A private online PDF editor that runs in your browser
Most online PDF editors upload your document to their servers, then ask you to sign up or pay once you reach a daily limit. This editor works differently. It uses pdf.js to display each page and pdf-lib to write your changes into the PDF, both running as JavaScript in this tab. Your file is never sent to FreNiMi.
What you can do
- Edit text: change words in existing lines, or add new text with a choice of Helvetica, Times or Courier, any size and colour, in bold or italic.
- Sign: draw or type a signature once, then place and resize it anywhere.
- Mark up: highlight, draw freehand, and add rectangles, ellipses, lines, arrows, check marks, crosses and today's date.
- Cover: white-out boxes hide stray marks, old dates or form text you want to replace.
- Images: insert a logo, stamp or photo (PNG, JPG, WebP and other formats your browser opens).
- Pages: reorder, rotate, delete, or insert blank pages before you download.

Limitations, stated plainly
- White-out and Edit text cover content visually. The original text is still inside the file and can be recovered, so they are not a substitute for redaction of confidential information.
- Edit text needs real text in the PDF. Scanned pages are images; use White-out and Add text on them instead.
- New text uses the standard PDF fonts, which cover English and Western European languages. Other characters become "?" and the editor tells you how many.
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first with Protect & Unlock PDF. Very large files are limited by your device's memory.
- Signatures are added as images. They are not certificate-based digital signatures.
Frequently asked questions
Is this PDF editor really free?
Yes. There is no account, trial, watermark, or daily limit. FreNiMi Tools is supported by FreNiMi's software services, not by charging for the tools.
Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?
Yes. Choose Edit text and click a line. The editor covers the original line with a box that matches the page background and puts the same words in an editable text box, using the closest standard font (Helvetica, Times or Courier). It works on PDFs that contain real text. Scanned pages are pictures of text, so use White-out and Add text on those.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is read, displayed and rebuilt entirely in your browser. Your file and the text you type are not uploaded. Page assets and limited usage counts still use the network.
Does white-out permanently remove information?
No. White-out and Edit text cover content visually in every PDF reader, but the original text remains in the file underneath and can be recovered by copying it or with other tools. Do not rely on it to hide confidential information; use a dedicated redaction tool for that.
Can I sign a PDF with this editor?
Yes. Choose Sign to draw or type your signature, then place and resize it on the page. It is added as an image, which suits most everyday forms. It is not a certificate-based digital signature.
Can I reorder, rotate, delete or add pages?
Yes. Each page has its own controls to move it up or down, rotate it, insert a blank page after it, or delete it. Rotate a page before adding edits to it.
Which PDFs will not work?
Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first with the Protect and Unlock PDF tool. Very large files are limited by your device's memory. New text uses standard PDF fonts, which cover English and Western European languages; other characters are replaced with a question mark and you are told how many.
Does the PDF editor work on a phone?
Yes, in current mobile browsers. Tools work with touch, and the page scrolls normally while the Select tool is active. Detailed edits are easier on a larger screen.
